Ancient architecture put simply looks more interesting Hagia Sophia being a great example.

We learned from the ancient architecture buildings a lot of function and even designs but nowadays we should work on new designs that serve our communities and needs and in my opinion such designs called Modern Architecture .

agreed wajdi, the world is not stationary, new needs new innovations, new lifestyle leads to applications of old principles in a modern way.

I agree with Wajdi.  While we can appreciate the beauty of both ancient and modern structures, we need to learn from them and apply those principles to our current design needs.

I like both,ancient and modern,but I have to admit,ancient is somehow more dear to me. It appears to be more in tune with the nature and it has some sense of warmth,which is not always a case when it comes to the modern architecture. I love buildings like the Acropolis in Athens or the Coloseum in Rome,seems like they are eternal.
