Hi. I am a big fan of Mac, and really - really would like to own one.

The ONLY problem is that the Apple guys haven't yet come out with an AutoCAD version which could run on the MacOS.

Or is there any other way? Beside dual-booting with a Windows OS?

I'm a mac fan too but like you, find a bit of trouble with compatibility issues. Here's a couple of links that might be of assistance. The first is to an autodesk resource and the second to Parallels (a mac virtualization software) Good luck.

Thanks for the links.
Have browsed through them, and hope to get going on it sooner, than later.
Thanks!!!
I have a mac and Parallels works perfectly fine when u use light programs like Autocad, but if you want to render on programs like 3D Max you should dual boot; its much faster than running on Parallels
Seems you have to have a windows emulator to run AutoCAD on a mac. But if you are going to do that, why not just get a PC.
I am already working on a PC since I took to Computers, but want to now move to a Mac. Hence the need to know about this.
Thanks for your suggestion.
I have also used AutoCAD on Parallels (Windows 7, Vista) in the past, but I got the occasional slowdown on my mid-2009 Macbook Pro.

Since then I've switched to VMWare and it's been noticeably smoother.
One other thing you should be careful about is licensing issues. If you choose to work with an existing Windows bootcamp partition as opposed to creating a virtual disk with a fresh installation, booting it up with Parallels/VMWare and running Autocad can deactivate it.

P.S. VirtualBox is a free alternative to Parallels and VMFusion but I have no experience with it. Might be worth looking into.
Looks like good news...... AutoCAD is considering an AutoCADversion for Macbooks. Look a this:
