I'm a little confused about what you're asking. My guess is you want to know if it is necessary to have some type of inspiration to pull your design from (concept). I think this is pivotal. Without inspiration and abstraction there is no substance to your design. It becomes lifeless and meek. If you have the opportunity, read "Eyes of the Skin" by Juhanni Palasma. It will give you insight into what it takes to design.
you r right but my problem is that i made the plan of my design without any inspiration i just drew some curved lines and pull up my form and plan...i have no concept behind it..nd now when my plan is completed and my form is also ready what shud i do to make a concept behind it?
Rabia, I think you're putting the cart before the horse a bit. The concept has to come before the design. You can try to make something up after the fact, but I think you'll find that's not going to go over very well with critics. You could rework your current design with a new concept in mind if you have the time. Maybe try and remember why you started drawing the curvy lines, there's usually some underlying reason behind these things. Most importantly I would just learn from this experience and develop your concept first and foremost on future projects. Good Luck!

but y the concept has to come before the design...??

i just like the curved lines..and on a rectangular site i drew the curved lines to cater the maximum space in order to design the kindergarten building...so is this my concept?but i m having no inspiration

That is partially a concept/inspiration. you obviously responded to the sites geometry and made a curvilinear form to contrast that. The problem you are having is that you didn't think about that before you started drawing. at this point, I would start to think about it that way and make another iteration or two based on that concept (or another that you feel is more of what you had in mind). Your first best solution should never be your ending point.
i didnt get u..or i didnt got ma answer in ur reply :(

Without concept the building is as if without soul and it cant be called as architecture. Before starting the design development many deep studies is needed to develop the concept that can carry strong character or respond to your issue.

I personally will have a hard time to start drawing before thinking of concept. as concept is the guide for you throughout the process.

Would you talk before thinking?

I think concept is the thinking part. If you talk without it, you may be successful at creating a sentence but you may miss some important words that would effect everything in relation.

Architecture is a language that contains past, recent and future elements. A very full dialog..

So... When you want it to speak for you, you need to think deep, understand wide and evolve futuristic. Because someone else will build on your past, to the future....It always carries on...

What to do in your situation right now would be reconsidering the steps that you took and finding out the reasons why you liked those shapes.. Because shapes that we create are tools to visualize. But there is always a reason behind the created geometry that the geometry fed itself on.

Naturally, as Architects we define naive ideas, geometries or thoughts in the very beginning. As you start reconsidering them and researching them in and out, it develops to be more of an Architecture rather than form only.

I will recommend you to find a very popular (nowadays) archicomic called Yes is More by Bjarke Ingels Group. I believe this book will help you to understand the whole process and answer many of your questions. Especially, conceptualizing before or after..

well said Deniz Inal...m satisfied with ur answer..nd i hav got an idea wot to do with my project :) thanx alot
still confirm me one thing that inspiration is also important?

Inspiration stimulates your creativity and motivates you to go forward. It is something in design blood and yes it is important. I wouldn't separate inspiration from concept or design. Because as I said before, we think, we design, we build and someone else gets the inspiration maybe from your design and builds on your past.
Evolution is maybe the best key word for inspiration. Evolving what happened to a better...
Here is the inspiration taking its place..

This is just like a chain. If you remove any item in it, then it is not connected anymore...

and .... that is where we 'Architects' are fed from... Connections!!

thanx deniz :) i am uploading my work of this project..kindly see and comment :)
