A friend forwarded me this video by James Kunstler and I think he raises some interesting points. I must admit that he's a bit eccentric, but I'm curious what the group thinks about this perpetual problem in my country, and if other places are struggling with establishing a sense of place in their cities. Would love to hear any thoughts.

Permalink Reply by Tyson on June 6, 2010 at 12:20pm I have not watched the video but Amit, i totally agree with what you said about developing countries, its just like you live in mine. however, the designers and architects also have to do their own side of the job by caring even if the policy makers don't, after all, we all ventured into architecture because we want to solve our countrys' and universal environmental and shelter problems, because we care for our country and universe. designers need to stop compromising standards once they are established in the codes for whosoever the client is.
