The entrepreneurial activity of Ezio Cristina began in 1949. Thanks to a phase of market prosperity, the business was able to transform itself from a third party contractor into a manufacturer.
The reference markets were initially limited, but gradually extended to involve foreign countries as well. At the beginning of the seventies, Cristina’s first born son, Alberto, joined the company, to be followed only a few years later by his brother, Riccardo. The 80’s saw the development of the “Cristina group”, along with the proposal for a partnership with “Silfra”, a bathtub drain manufacturer whose purchase was finalized during the 90’s. The operation was of significant strategic value: The new company provided for a wider range of products, resulting in an even more complete customer service. In the years that followed, Cristina implemented the revolutionary force of the single-control mixing valve and recognised the necessity to produce the cartridge in-house, without relying on external suppliers, thereby obtaining a safer and more streamlined product range.
At the end of the 1990’s, a fortunate coincidence marked the beginning of a new age for the company. Makio Hasuike, an internationally renowned designer, came up with ESEMPIO, a high visual-impact, futuristic, single-control mixing valve that marked a turning point in the company’s tap production. The restyling of the brand, as well as the constant expansion of the available product typologies, have both contributed to the establishment of Cristina as an example of "Made in Italy” quality worldwide.
