Have you heard of passive solar energy homes?  Wikipedia defines a passive solar building design as one where

windows, walls, and floors are made to collect, store, and distribute solar energy in the form of heat in the winter and reject solar heat in the summer.

Let me show you some really beautiful examples of passive solar energy homes.

I could very easily enjoy living in one of these.  They’re so open and airy.  I’m just in awe!

This home comes with a spectacular view is called The River Bank House.  It sits along the Gallatin River just outside Big Sky, MT.

The walk-out living room in this home is absolutely gorgeous!  I’m in love with the wood panel ceilings.

I like the beam work.  It’s a wonderful use of wood.

This gorgeous house is perched on a hill facing the beautiful Pacific Coast.  It’s name is The Malibu 5 House!  It’s even more appealing with the warm glow from the lights.

The daytime view.  I’m not sure what else to say about it besides totally awesome!

The interior view from the living room!  The color of the wood floor has my attention.  Love it!  So warm.

Another view to the ocean from the dining room. I like the use of white throughout the home.  So crisp and clean.  There are times I appreciate the minimalistic look and this is one of them.  Just love it!

It just goes to show that being environmentally aware can be beautiful.  I’m going to sum this kind of architecture in two words~simple and stylish.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
