1 House in Łódź, Poland caught my attention for two reasons.  First, Polish architecture firm Moomoo Architects made it entirely of a plastic insulating material called Thermopian.  Typically, Thermopian is used only for roofing, but it has good thermal, acoustic, and insulating properties, and can be made in any color.  And so 1 House is a solid navy blue from top to bottom. 

Second, one wall protrudes alone from the residence at an angle, and does so for one specific reason: local zoning law.  The law insists that the façade be built parallel to the site’s border, but that did not fit with the scheme of the home’s design.  So, zoning law, here is your façade.
