Aarhus Gymnastics and Motor Skills Hall has been designed to encourage movement in 3- to 10-year-olds with footbridges and platforms along the length of the hall, and an area with trampolines and jumping equipment. A sculpturally-formed climbing framed, called “the seashell,” extends across the width of the hall right up under the ceiling. The space between the seashell and the ceiling is fitted with an 8 meter high lookout tower with a view of Aarhus Bay and the Mols Mountains.
The exterior appears as a raw concrete shell, with large, angular windows that add lightness and dynamics to the façade. The design by C. F. Møller Architects is an extension of the Aarhus Gymnastics and Trampoline Hall.
