Zaha Hadid designed this organic gem for The Tourism Development and Investment Company of Abu Dhabi (TDIC). The 62,770 square meter Abu Dhabi Performing Arts Center will house a music hall, concert hall, opera house, drama theater, and a flexible theater with a combined seating capacity of 6,300. It will be ten storeys high, with four underground, and have a long, sloping bridge, like the stem of a leaf. Branching algorithms and growth-simulation processes were used to develop the concept and design of the center. The branches, stems, fruit, and leaves of the biological analogy used are transformed into the architectural design.

Nice......but, all that glass in the roof in Abu Dhabi....anyone ever ask if it might be too hot inside in the summer? In other words....is there an environmentally friendly method of keeping the building cool?

Still.....beautiful design.
