Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and Indian-born artist Anish Kapoor have teamed up to design the orb-like Nova Ark. The 500-seat performance venue can be quickly inflated and deflated, and easily transported to various locations within the devastated areas. The project's name of "new ark" refers to the hope that it will become a symbol of recovery. Made of an inflatable elastic material, the hall provides a platform for a variety of performances, from chamber music and jazz, to dance and theater, to multimedia and interdisciplinary projects. The performances are sponsored, allowing attendance to be available to all.
