I've known a lot of cooks in my time and they all say something similar - "You eat with your eyes first!" Architecture is similar in that it is a visual art before it is a functional trade. This project by VAUUM is quite a visual feast. The orientation of the planes of the building give you the impression that the building is in a constant state of flux. I think the art of cooking is an interesting parallel. The food is transformed from one state to another until you reach an ideal state of consumption - a state that is fleeting and must be consumed in an appropriate period of time. Architecture has an ideal state as well which is also fleeting. Obvious examples would be the Athenian Acropolis or the Roman Forum.  These places were once prominent public arenas that are now somewhat relegated to projections of architectural theory. I hope we all take the time to enjoy projects like this while they are still fresh. Enjoy.
