Blue Crystal is the elegant concept proposed by Sven Sauer, Frank Sauer, and Marc Andre Mauermann to float off the shore of Dubai.  Meant to be a glamorous escape, it is filled with high-end restaurants and features a Blue Lounge with interactive tables.  The translucent façade and central column fill the interior with diffused natural light.  Yet, the Crystal’s façade is also lit from within, and changes color hourly to create a giant glowing timepiece.

The Blue Crystal is attached to the mainland by a line dotted by buoys that light up as the shuttle passes by.  This serves as a beautiful visualization of when the next shuttle will arrive.  It also is embedded with an “intelligent solar system” to provide its energy requirements, and has an energy recycling system.
