A result of piling several stone boxes on the side of a hill, Casa S creates the idea that it is just another outcropping of rock within its beautiful and harsh surroundings. Constructed of local stones, Alric Galindez Architects created each of the “boxes” to frame a stunning view of the enveloping Catedral, Otto, and Ventana mountains. The interior space of the vacation home is designed to adapt to different uses – from a single couple, to a sizable group of friends – with the access level containing the social area and a few bedrooms. Bedroom-sized spaces fill the ground level, including one two-level loft. The deck outside extends out to a platform containing a Jacuzzi that overlooks the Patagonian valley below.
