Cien House is the seven-storey monolithic live/work space of the architectural husband-and-wife team of Mauricio Pezo and Sofia von Ellrichshausen (Pezo von Ellrichshausen).  Set on a hillside overlooking Concepción, Chile, there were restrictions on the size of the building’s footprint, but not on its height.  As a result, the first floor serves as a workshop, and the second floor as a living and dining space, with the five storeys of the tower serving as two bedrooms, topped with three floors of offices.  The interior is clad with pine walls and eucalyptus floors, while the exterior is textured concrete dotted with square windows of varying sizes.
