The Cloud House by Australian architecture firm McBride Charles Ryan is both an addition to and a renovation of an Edwardian house in Fitzroy North, near Melbourne. The interior of the existing home is primarily white, brightened by a bold floral carpet. As one journeys through the house from the entrance, eventually the kitchen is encountered, in the form of a large, red, disintegrated box. This is the heart of the property, which then leads to a cloud-shaped extrusion where the floor, walls, and ceiling seamlessly merge. This playful form encompasses the dining and living area, and opens to the yard and swimming pool.
