Located in Nordborg, Denmark, the
Danfoss Universe
Extension (Phase II)
Food Factory and Curiosity Center was realized in 2007. Designed by
J. Mayer H. Architekten, Danfoss Universe is a science park embedded in the agricultural landscape of Nordborg that includes an exhibition building (the Curiosity Center) and a restaurant (the Food Factory). The unique lines of the buildings are meant to blur the lines between the structures and the park, creating "inside-out" spaces for projection surfaces and display areas that are related to the indoor exhibitions. The buildings create a curious horizon line; stylized-organic, like clouds turned inside-out. The buildings' interactive enclosed spaces also extend the park's activity into the winter months.
