The Drew House aims to create a kind of luxury campsite nestled in the gnarled Bloodwoods and ancient Palms south of Gladstone in Australia. The home was created by Simons Law Anthill Construction for photographic artist Marian Drew, and her family, and includes one of her works as a decorative part of the bathroom. Designed to be largely self-sufficient, the Drew House has rainwater tanks, solar hot water, solar electrical panels, an energy efficient passive design, and is part of a community water recycling system. The separated living and sleeping pods not only allow for privacy, but also more easily integrate into the landscape, disturbing it less than a more traditional structure.
