Wright's Prairie style of architecture found its earliest expression right here in his own home. The strong geometrical forms, horizontal planes, and environmental harmony that characterize his work are seen in both his home (1889) and studio (1898), where he completed a quarter of his life's work. Wright used his residence as something of an architectural laboratory, as he experimented with design ideas that evolved into characteristic features of the Prarie style.

Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio is a National Trust Historic Site owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and operated by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust.
