New York-based firm Bates Masi + Architects already designed 35 years ago the home that sat on this site.  The new owners hired the architects to design a larger structure, but zoning restrictions required any new homes to have the exact same footprint as the original structure.  Within that limitation, Bates Masi erected the elegant, two-storey Georgica Pond.

The regal 6,500 square foot home sits on a two-acre lot in East Hampton.  Every room on both the first and second floors opens onto continuous walkways and terraces that wrap completely around the house.  It is constructed of limestone, steel, aluminum and glass, with limestone and carpet as the interior flooring, and expansive plaster walls to accommodate the owner’s art collection.
