The stunning Infinity Loop Bridge is the winning design proposal by 10 Design and Buro Happold to connect the Shizimen Canal to the Pearl River Delta.  An undulating structural ribbon cradles the 6-lane road deck, then soars upward into two triangulated arches that support the deck below via suspension cables.  The complex coastline conditions made using a single arch an awkward and unattractive option.  However, using two arches was more practical, and offered greater meaning.  When reflected off the water, a double 8 figure is created, which is a sign of prosperity in Chinese culture.
