This 2007
design by the Indonesia firm
Aboday Architects is a cheerful children's hospital in Jakarta. Aboday intends the design of the
Kemang Children's Hospital to deconstruct the public's common perception about hospitals. The building's facade is designed to engage both the non-descript commercial buildings and the colorful signage that surround the building. The airy reception area and all the administrative space are located in the square section that was phase II of the hospital's construction. All the other hospital functions are located in the longer and narrower section, graced by the brightly colored facade.
