WE Architecture and
Sophus Søbye Architects, in collaboration with
MASU Planning,
Øllgaard Consulting Engineer,
Spangenberg & Madsen Consulting Engineer, and
Hausenberg, won first prize in the invited competition to
design Kulturcenter Mariehøj. Built for the Rudersdahl municipality located in the Holte, Denmark, the 8,000-square-meter (800 meters of it newly built) cultural center will create a clear and memorable - and marketable - profile in the
landscape. The culture
center is designed to merge with the surrounding landscape, bridging the gap between the arrival area, the plaza, and the courtyard. It also creates multiple intersections and meeting points, bringing together the the center's many activities into a space where all its visitors may interact.
