Beginning with the theme of the classic rustic fence, Austrian architecture firm heri&salli created the sinuous Landscape Fence for a private builder-owner. Instead of simply demarcating the garden and pool space, Landscape Fence creates the space and renders the spatial experience. It draws on the idea of a cocoon, and slowly opens from a more intimate space to a broad view of the lake. Structurally it consists of an overhanging free concave form with circular tube profiles that run diagonally. The diamond-shaped plates are affixed at only two ends, and so can rotate to let allow more or less light and visibility.
