This Swiss residential settlement comprised of nine houses is designed by
Vetsch Architektur, which specializes in organically shaped earth houses. Residents of
Earth House Estate Lättenstrasse can grow their gardens on their roofs, and if that isn't enough space, there is free agricultural land to the south of the lot. The homes are centered around a small man-made lake, and the parking structure is located underneath the houses. The living areas in each homes are facing south, to embrace all available sunlight, while the bedrooms are at the north ends of the homes. The basement and parking lot are built using standard techniques, while the ground floor is made of sprayed concrete and the isolation consists of recycled glass.
