I would say it's easy to grasp how one would design architecture to house human activities, but very difficult, on the other hand, to design architecture that is built to house images. I think if you take a look at any given movie theater you'll see what I'm talking about. Movie theaters are amongst the most horrid structures on the face of this planet. I've often wondered if movies are put in them to make you forget about the warehouse you're trapped in! The project above by Leeser Architecture is a departure from this mindset. The architecture is not merely an unfortunate necessity, but a vehicle to enhance the experience of the moving image. The architecture does take a second chair, but it enriches those unconscious senses we associate with moving images. Enjoy.
