The Musical Studies Center in Santiago de Compostela is located in the Vista Alegre plot of land, one of the most relevant green areas surrounding the old quarter of Santiago.  The 1,700 square-meter building juts abrasively out of the carpet of grass, cutting a strong cubic silhouette.  The masonry of the facade is made of rough-hewn granite stones stacked unevenly against each other. The smooth concrete interior is warmed windows that offer natural light and open to views of the surrounding verdant landscape.  Larger spaces such as percussion rooms and an auditorium are located at the basement level, while the upper floors contain study rooms and teachers' offices.  The Musical Studies Center is the work of Ensamble Studio.
