Silk Road Map Evolution (SRME) is a project conceived by
OFL Architecture that has won First Prize at the international competition to rebuild and re-establish the Silk Road.
SRME strongly integrates
architecture with infrastructure through a new rail line that runs from Venice to Xi'an. The 15,000 kilometer railway is based on gravitational polarized fields that merge the East with the West and will serve as commercial transport. The railway will be interrupted by several bionic towers which are composed of three different types of skyscrapers that will extend to an average of 400 meters in height. The outer skin of both the towers and the railway will consist of "green" concrete that can significantly reduce air pollution and, through a synthetic chlorophyll, produce 500 liters of oxygen a day. Finally, as it runs across the nations, SRME will extend "arms" north and
south to include and aid smaller, struggling cities and economies into
its vast network of commerce.
