Sodae House sits on the island Kostverlorenkade 1, in a nature area not far from Amsterdam.  The Netherlands-based architecture firm VMX began the concept for the house from the landscape, including skyscrapers like the Rembrandt Tower in the distance, and the airplanes that pass nearby.  The 500 square meter home angles distinctively toward the sky, as if it’s about to take flight.  The kitchen and living room are on the first floor, in a loft-like layout, while the bedrooms and bathrooms are on the ground floor, with large windows that are oriented toward the garden in the back.  The basement has a large open space, designed for uses such as a fitness room or home theater.
