The proposal by Sane Architecture for the Taichung City Cultural Center integrates the neighboring Gateway Park landscape to form a key cultural landmark and entryway. The building utilizes permeability to combine the library and the museum with the green space to create a diverse and layered spatial experience. The impressive ground floor lobby - with an area of 1,500 square meters and a maximum height of 24.5 meters - can also be used as a special exhibition space. The Center uses natural ventilation and energy reclamation systems. Electricity is produced through an Invelox system of 15 vertical towers equipped with wind-harnessing funnels.
