In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia sits the Pod Exhibition Pavilion designed by the Rome-based Studio Nicoletti Associati. It is divided into two main sections, one for offices and the other as a sales showroom. The shape of the Pod is inspired by water droplets, and according to Nicoletti, it is “a primitive building archetype with a modern twist.” Mildly reminiscent of a giant worm from Dune, the architecture is composed of thick elliptical slices, each with its own unique height and width. It is fabricated of tubular steel parts and covered with spectrally reflective aluminum panels that appear to change shade depending on the angle of the sunlight.
