Vault Room is the name of a
renovation of a small terraced house that sits along the "Reien" in the heart of historical Bruges, Belgium. The renovation was designed by the
architecture firm
51N4E, and reinterprets the cramped rear building space as a
capacious and generously lit winter garden. The double-height space is covered completely with planks of timber. It begins as an arch and gradually shifts into an asymmetrical incline at the back which frames a neighboring tree. The kitchen contains custom made furniture with an integrated fireplace. The rest of the house is fitted with partly new flooring, and new colors for walls, ceiling, and façade.
